World Record Pumpkin – Christy Harp of Jackson Township, Ohio grew a giant 1,725 pound pumpkin that set a new world record.

The world record pumpkin was grown from a seed from the previous record-holding 1,689 pound pumpkin grown in 2007 by Joe Jutras of North Scituate, R.I.
Christy Harp and her husband Nick have a friendly competition each year over who can grow the largest pumpkin and this year’s massive result topped her husband’s best effort by 400 pounds.
The prize-winning pumpkin is in cold storage for a possible trip to New York and an appearance in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
