So, who the hell is Tom Riccio really?

Well, Riccio’s what you might call a real piece of work.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Tom Riccio, the man who arranged the meeting between Simpson and the two collectors, has an extensive criminal history from the 1980s and ’90s, including grand larceny in Florida, possession of stolen goods in Connecticut and receiving stolen property in California.

In 1984, Tom Riccio was convicted in New York of conspiracy to receive stolen property. He bounced around the prison system for months before escaping from a federal prison in Connecticut.

Riccio was on the lam two years before being recaptured. After his release, he was convicted of arson in California. Tom Riccio was later convicted of receiving stolen good in regards to $500,000 worth of rare coins stolen from a Miami numismatics dealer.

OJ Simpson faces multiple felony charges from an alleged armed robbery of the collectors involving the former football great’s sports memorabilia, authorities said.

Simpson said auction house owner Tom Riccio called him several weeks ago to say some collectors were selling some of his items. Riccio set up a meeting with collectors under the guise that he had a private collector interested in buying OJ Simpson’s items.

And that’s pretty much it on the scumbag known as Tom Riccio.
