Airport Death latest news – CNN video on the autopsy of Carol Gotbaum, the 37-year old woman whose airport death has sparked an uproar about police brutality, showed multiple bruises on her body and the cause of death as positional asphyxia.

At the time of her death in the Phoenix airport, Carol Gotbaum was headed to alcohol rehab in Tuscon. She was forcibly detained, handcuffed, and chained to a bench.

Her family and private autopsy specialists believe her airport death was due to being chained face down on the holding cell bench with her hands handcuffed behind her, which led to her suffocating to death.
Michael Manning, who was hired by the family to monitor the police investigation, said the private investigator who watched the official autopsy said numerous bruises were scattered across Gotbaum’s body.
“The body shows signs of a struggle,” Manning said. “There are ligature marks, and some of those ligature marks match the chain that they used to chain her to the bench.”
