Here we are in Mid Feb 2009. I just ate a Banquet Pot Pie (turkey) Which i purchased at the local Super-Center on sale. 4.90 for 10 (that's .49 each)
After noticing a funny after taste and not feeling well my wife told me about the recall Last October.
I checked it Out Sure enough the Pot Pies have the 5009 - P9 numerals.
I am going get them tested...to see if they are ones that were put right back on the shelfs.
Wake up People The Big Corps do not really care about Us only their Profit Margins.
Remember Peanut Butter recall for Salm in Feb of 2007. and Again in Jan 2009. Same Plants with the same problems. 2 years with major recalls.
They have just now shut down the Plant in Texas.
For the Record i Microwaved mine for 5:55 Well over the Limit to kill micro Bacteria as well as nuke all the nutrients.
I bet if Whole Foods (Organic Brands) Had a problem something would get done.
Trickled on Sux.

for those of you that say; all is needed is for the pot pies to be cooked properly. I am not a stupid person, and do not make it a habit of eating or serving my family half cooked food. I cooked the pies as directed and my father in law became deathly ill. It has nothing to do with litigation as some of you say. It has alot to do with consumers trusiting these companies to sell quality products. No money could make up for the pain and suffering my family experienced. I don't expect to purchase a product- a food product that will put me or famliy in the hospital or grave!

wow! Everyone here is spewing forth "pain and suffering". Americans are too litigious. So quick to sue.

Cook your food, follow directions, and stop complaining.

If you can't read the cooking instructions, mail in your stupid labels to conagra and get reimbursed. This isn't brain surgery folks.

I ate a chicken pot pie this past weekend and got real sick. I checked the others that I had left in the freezer and there was a P6 on them. I threw them away. I went to the doctor and she said that I had food poisoning. I live in Georgia.

My lazy azz wife tried to serve me one of these and I gave her a smack up side the head. This crap is not dinner. After a hard day at work I better come home to a home cooked 4 course meal. My old lady still has a black eye for trying to serve me some of banquets lousy pot pies. Now where does she go to get a check for her pain and suffering?

My husband ate the pot pies and yes, they were the ones in question. He became violently ill at work and missed 4 days of work after a trip to the ER and a WBC count of 22! It was said it may be something he ate. After a stool specimen was obtained ( much later) he was released home and rested for days. He was one sick guy and will get nothing for his pain and suffering.

To Kimberly:
"what does the future really hold for us. Pills for nutrition instead of food?"
Actually, black market pills made in China and filled with street paint and lead can be found in Tylenol (etc.) bottles all over the country. I wouldn't trust a pill either. I think we're going to have to invent a suit that absorbs UV rays and converts it into nutrition.

It's getting really old! I am sick and tired of throwing away food and toys that I spent hard earned money on. Not only did we have a ton of these pot pies in our deep freezer, we also had the tainted peanut butter, one of the recalled play yards and SEVERAL of the toys that were recalled.
We have 5 children and don't have the time or money to waste on this crap!

How dare you tell people to cook the food properly to keep from getting sick. Do you actually think this many people are that stupid, It's obvious cooking them properly does not mean you won't get sick. I COOKED THEM PROPERLY. and was sick for 2+ weeks! The problem is these rich companies trying to cut corners and save a buck, theyre willing to kill someone for it.

Yeah yeah yeah, everyones sick now. Read directions and cook the f'n thing's. Not for nothing the recall was announced over 2 week's ago. If people are that oblivious to the news then either learn to pay attention or puke.

I'm sure people will be lining up for some cash from Conagra.

Truthfully most people have a better chance of getting salmonella in their own kitchen's due to poor food handling and hygene.

You people make me sick. I am a Dietition, and it clearly states to cook properly on the box, as with anything else you buy from the store. I mean come on, this is what happens with undercooked meat. If you can not wait for the food to cook properly, you deserve to get sick, America is so sue happy, and some of you are probably looking for a check, it's pathetic.

I bought banquet pot pies from walmart about 2 weeks ago and my husband ate one and got sick a day later did not think anything about it. I went to walmart to get more and there was none in the freezer and nothing to say they recalled them. I went to krogers tonight and they had a big paper on the freezer door that they were recalled, I called my husband and asked if he ate anymore because he has not felt good for a couple days and yes he did 2 days ago. Now what can we do.

No big surprise, wife is a "former" employee at another plant. We know how that one is run. Staph is rampant currently. MRSA. Who pays postage for this? I've already bought the pies, drove them home, kept them frozen, now I have to be put out for postage for their inferior product? Do that or eat one & be sick- good choice! Maybe a Peter Pan peanut butter sandwich and a pot pie should be considered for the white collar bunch!!

This is getting beyond rediculous all the food recalls lately, Its sad expecially when I just bought some of these potpies in a Publix yesterday and they have already been recalled. Why are the stores still selling them. Is it there afraid there going to loose money or that they just don't care about the people eating them. Also I want to know why we have to mail our labels why can't the stores give us our money back? All I have to say is if its not our food making us and our kids sick its the kids toys what does the future really hold for us. Pills for nutrition instead of food?

The Wal-mart where I live, the customer service staff denies that there was a recall despite the fact that they pulled everything off the shelves, and did not want to refund my money, but there was one kind manager that knew how to treat a customer. Tell me, who's the liar here? On a different note, with all the food recalls why are who closing several FDA offices? Who will be responsible for monitoring our food safety?

Wal-mart sold these Banquet Pot Pies for fifty cents each. Apparently they weren't even worth that! How is my 90 year old father-in-law who eats them going to know how to "properly cook" them to kill the salmonella. They should be safe to begin with.

People get so upset, but it clearly states "if cooked properly" it should not create a problem. This is being addressed and handled - yes it's bad when it makes people sick, but we are dealing with potential human error in most things we eat. Morale - cook your foods properly - even the e-coli with the hamburger wouldn't create so many health issues if the meat was cooked properly.

Dear C.E.O.

I will be sending 3 uneaten Banquet Chicken and Turkey pot pies of 10 we purchased some weeks ago. This was one of the few items our 5 and 6 year old Grandsons like for lunch. I can not tell you the devastation and grief this would have caused our families if something would have happened to either one of them. I appreciate the USDA requiring this recall, but disappointed in the time it took you getting this notice out.
Regard
