Billionaire Richard Branson hurt as he celebrated the inaugural Virgin American flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas by jumping off the top of the Palms Hotel and Casino.

In this picture, Branson’s  pants are shredded from being scraped against the wall of the hotel as he descended on a tethered line.
Branson injured his palm after being blown against the building on his rapid descent.

Yes, it was obviously groupies reaching out the window that tore his pants on the way down. In “hindsight” I can see that now…
Branson just happened to limp off stage because he was trying out a new pair of shoes that were too tight…
And the stunt coordinators weren’t extremely lax on proper safety clearance and guide wire tightness to keep him from scraping the building as he descended…
And the tooth fairy always knows when you’ve lost a tooth and Santa knows who’s been naughty or nice…
Any other fairy tales you want people to believe?

I was there and took photos of the jump for my WestVegas.com website (take a look). It was windy and that would be a scary jump for anyone to do. He was gentleman enough to address the crowd while still obviously in pain.
