I Shot The Sheriff: Eric Clapton just released a new autobiography “Eric Clapton – The Autobiography – I Shot The Sheriff” filled with lurid tales of sex, drugs, and rock & roll from the life of Rock’s greatest guitarist.

The song “I Shot The Sheriff” was one of Eric Clapton’s greatest hits. It was released in 1974 on an album of the same name and also on his legendary 461 Ocean Boulevard album.

I Shot The Sheriff was written by Bob Marley and was also a huge reggae hit for Bob Marley & The Wailers.

Eric Clapton’s autobiography retraces every step of his career, from the early stints with the Yardbirds and Cream to his solo successes, and devotes copious detail to his drug and alcohol addictions, particularly how they intersected with his romantic obsession with Pattie Boyd, the wife of his best friend George Harrison.
