David Copperfield Rape Charge – A Seattle woman accused David Copperfield of rape and the FBI raided his Vegas warehouse (video below) seizing $2 million in cash, a hard drive, and a digital camera.
The David Copperfield rape charge will be hard to prove because the accuser says she was raped in the Bahamas, but no police report was filed, no medical exam or rape kit was performed, and she waited until she was back home before reporting the alleged rape.
Also, David Copperfield is famous for dating some of the most beautiful women in the world such as Claudia Schiffer and Sonia Uribe, both pictured below, so why would he rape some schlumpf from Seattle?
The woman told Seattle police the magician raped her while she was in the Bahamas, sources said. Because the alleged incident happened abroad and the woman did not report it until she returned to the United States, Seattle authorities turned over the case to the FBI.
The whole thing reeks of a setup, but that’s never stopped the FBI before from jumping on a celebrity rape allegation with stormtrooper boots. Watch the news video on the FBI raid below.

Copperfield’s Las Vegas attorney, David Chesnoff, refused to give specifics about the charge.
“If in fact those are the allegations, unfortunately false allegations are all too often made against famous individuals,” Chesnoff said. “But we are confident the investigation will conclude favorably.” He continued: “We are in touch with the investigators and are respecting the confidentiality of the investigation.”
Copperfield’s warehouse in Las Vegas is called the International Museum & Library of the Conjuring Arts where he stores tricks and memorabilia from around the world, and apparently likes to keep a little spare cash around too…

Gotta love having that kind of cash laying around the old warehouse…I’m sure the IRS is gonna be auditing the hell out of him…lol!
According to Forbes magazine, Copperfield made $57 million in 2005 and the same amount the year before.
And of course, Copperfield currently has a great gig in Vegas that pays him big bucks, so he’s not hurting for money at all.
Chick sounds like a golddigger to me. Otherwise, she woulda filed charges in the Bahamas and gathered some evidence of the “rape” to prove her case.

What a good article. I just don’t know why the FBI would raid his warehouse unless the girl told the FBI confidential info about Copperfield and told them to check his warehouse.
If he supposedly raped her in the Bahamas, he obviously brought her there or something because he does own an island there. He probably flew her over. Who knows. This story does sound fishy.

Having cash laying around does not consitute an audit by the IRS.
The IRS can only audit if the cash that is laying around is not claimed in tax statements.
Remember people are taxed on their gross taxable income (gross taxable income is [money made - taxable deductions - loses].
So to make it short. If Mr. Copperfield has claimed that 2 million in cash on his tax statements, the IRS can not do a thing.

Just because he’s dated beautiful (famous) women in the past, doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be interested in a (not so famous) woman from Seattle. I have spent too many years around celebs to know that there’s just as much of a chance that she’s making it up – as there is that he did it and is banking on his fame to get away with it. Make no mistake that celebs know their power and worth in our society and most of them use it whenever times get tough.
If it did happen and she waited to report it – it will be very hard to prove, and I’m sorry for her. If this is a false accusation, she should be prosecuted for lying to the police and for slander.

As a woman that has experienced this attrocity by someone with fame and power pelase know that it may have taken place. This woman may have needed some time to understand exactly what happened to her. I have also learned that where there is smoke there is usally fire. Just becuase he is wealthy and famous it does not mean that he does not have some unresolved issues that may force him to act out, apart from on stage! A woman is always at a disadvantage in this situation because her motives are alwys suspect. Also the first thing that happens to a woman iin this sitaution is that she takes on feelings of gult and shame and blames herself. I am not saying that it definetly did happen I am just pointing out that already the spin is agaist her and she is being accused of motives she may not even have. The attorney that took her cause must actually believe that there is someting here that even David Copperfield can not make disappear!

It seems to me that either it was a setup of some sort or perhaps something did happen. I mean, first of all, why raid his warehouse and take a memory card and part of his computer harddrive as I have been reading about? Another thing, why have that much money lying around anyway? Could he have taken pictures of the rape IF it happend? Was he going to pay the woman off to keep her quiet IF indeed he did rape her? Or was there something behind it all. Just because he’s famous does not mean he isn’t capable of harming someone. He is a person too, so being a celebrity should not be a factor. I am looking at both sides of this.
As for her reporting it in th USA instead of the Bahamas is beyond me, she could have been scared or what would happen to her. I don’t know, she could also be making it up, but why would a woman be stupid enough to do that? Plus if she IS lying then she needs to confess, otherwise she will be in a shitload of trouble, but if it DID happen, then David’s career is over for good.

Objectively, reality is reality. There is no evidence of rape. The woman did not notify law enforcement in the Bahamas, did not have any medical tests or rape kit performed, and waited three days to make the allegations. Unless he videotaped the “rape” or she ends up pregnant with a baby with his DNA, she does not have any chance of winning any money in a lawsuit which is her obvious objective. If she wanted him behind bars, she would have called the police in the Bahamas as soon as she was free.

I know that this woman in Seattle is telling the truth, because David Copperfield raped me years ago and I never came forward. I was under age and very scared of him. He is a master manipulator and convinces you that you should not tell. I am telling my story now so that I can support this woman. I’m sure in all these years we are not the only two women, I encourage any other women who he might have raped to come forward as well. The truth needs to be told. He needs to be taken off the streets so that he can not hurt anyone else. For those of you that wonder why she didn’t come forward right away, being raped is a very scary and confusing thing to sort through. I am very proud of her courage to come forward at all!!! I don’t want any money, I want him in jail!!!! I’ve waited a long time for this day.

The FBI wouldn’t jump on a Rape case if they didn’t have a lot of evidence.They don’t give out warrants just because someone yells rape. I will bet there are many other cases against Copperfield that will come forward. Just like the cases of the Catholic Priests molesting children. Time will tell, I hope justice is served, unlike OJ and Specter.

I do believe this young lady. I went to one of his shows in Las Vegas with my bestfriend. I was the first one he picked to go on stage. And then my bestfriend was second. After the show he had his assisstant.. whom was a women. She came up to us after the show, and said David wanted to see us. and give us an “extra” thank you. I mean ofcourse when you have this rich guy flattering you.. you might get caught up in the moment. But i had that feeling in my heart like something wasn’t right. Anyways… long story short. We gave some information to the lady. “FAKE” info. Because I am smart enough to not give him my phone number or address. he invited us to go to the Bahamas with him. And then his assisstant.. the same lady… I remember her name being Jennifer. She said something about being some kind of MODELS for him. I knew it wasn’t right. And I really feel bad for this young lady. Because ofcourse nobody is going to believe her.. you know? they think she’ll just want his money or something. But yea.. David Copperfield is a womanizer and I say this because I personally know him. He has “girlfriends” all over the US and probably in other countries. He gives these “girlfriends” a message telephone number where they can only leave him messages. He never gives them his direct number because he’s got so many girls on the side that he doesn’t want any of them to find out about his “other women.” All of his employees cover up for him and help him find girls. I feel bad for the girls because they think that David solely likes them when in reality he’s got so many others. He never wants anyone to photograph him and his “girls” because then his other girlfriends will find out. He makes sure the paparrazi can’t take pics of him with girls. He is greedy and isn’t generous at all with his girls. He doesn’t buy them anything, but meals. He has a sick mind and is into horror and satanic stuff. He’s a perverted guy who needs to get caught.
Girls need to wake up and know that he isn’t going to help you with your modeling career or buy you diamonds, etc.
He’s only gone public with a few girls because he’s truly liked them and wasn’t using them, however, most of the girls he’s seeing are simply one night stands or girls to have fun with.
All in all, David’s into witchcraft and into the occult, so this rape charge shouldn’t be a surprise.

I really think this is a bit absurd. I haven’t heard anything anywhere so far that would convince me DC is anything but, at worst, a booty-chaser or, at best, a guy who likes pretty women. So he’s trolling for booty from stage. SO WHAT? So he probably will nail anything that stands still long enough. WHY NOT? I’m a woman and I can still say that if I were half as rich and famous as him I would be banging all the pretty men/women I could, too.
The point is, being a womanizer just means he fits in with the rest of the men in the Rich & Famous circle. All those women that Anonymous mentioned CHOSE to go to bed with him (we assume) so they shouldn’t sit around and cry because of THEIR bad judgement.
Another thing that really bugs me is the articles in the Enquirer that are lambasting him and making him out to be some evil, sex-crazed maniac. Maybe he is a sleazeball but that doesn’t make him a criminal. Also, really, how moronic does this Seattle girl expect us to think she is?
If a 51-year-old man came up to ME (I’m 21, too) and asked if I wanted to spend the weekend at his private resort and not bring my boyfriend, I wouldn’t be in doubt as to what his intentions were. Whether or not he said there would be people there, you’d have to be pretty oblivious not to realize he wasn’t just asking you over to improve the decore. Until someone can offer more than overblown stories and unsubstantiated accusations, I’m going to give Mr. Copperfield the benefit of the doubt.

I’ve been involved in taxations for lengthier then I care to acknowledge, both on the individualized side (all my employed life-time!!) and from a legal stand since satisfying the bar and pursuing tax law. I’ve offered a lot of advice and rectified a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes perfect sense. Rape investigation of David Copperfield closed
Federal prosecutors closed a two-year rape investigation of magician David Copperfield on Tuesday without filing charges, and police in Bellevue say his accuser made a false sexual assault claim against another man last month.
The end of the federal investigation came in a brief court filing by Assistant U.S. Attorney Susan Roe. The U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle declined to discuss its reasons, but in a written statement, spokeswoman Emily Langlie said that generally, investigations may be closed without charges if prosecutors determine there is no federal jurisdiction, no federal laws were broken, or that it would be impossible to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
“Neither the investigation, nor its termination, should be perceived as a comment on guilt or innocence,” the statement said.
The woman who made the complaint, a 23-year-old fashion model, waitress and former Miss Washington contestant, said in a related civil lawsuit against Copperfield that she met him when he pulled her out of the crowd and onto the stage during a performance in Kennewick. She was later invited to visit his private island in the Bahamas in July 2007.
The woman claimed that once she arrived, Copperfield, whose real name is David Kotkin, sexually assaulted her, in one instance holding her head under water to coerce her.
“She is disappointed, but it wasn’t completely unexpected given the jurisdictional issue of prosecuting him here for something that happened on his private island,” said Rebecca Roe, a lawyer for the woman.
The illusionist’s lawyers, Angelo Calfo and Patty Eakes, previously said he denied the allegations and called the lawsuit “extortion for money, plain and simple,” but they had no immediate comment on the prosecutors’ decision.
Bellevue Police records obtained by The Associated Press on Tuesday indicate that Copperfield’s accuser made false sexual assault allegations against another man last month.
Police referred the matter to prosecutors for potential charges of prostitution and making a false or misleading statement to a public servant.
According to the investigation reports, the woman was working as a server at a restaurant and decided to meet with a customer for drinks on Dec. 2.
She and another woman met the man, but before long the other woman left — later telling police it was because the other two had become so affectionate toward each other that it was making her uncomfortable.
Copperfield’s accuser and the other man rented a hotel room, and surveillance images included in the police records showed them kissing and holding each other in the lobby.
The woman later exited the hotel room and told hotel staff the man took advantage of her, the police documents said.
She said she was dizzy and couldn’t remember what happened, but only awoke to find him on top of her, police said.
But the man also called police, saying she left the room and falsely accused him to the staff because he refused to pay her $2,000 for sex.
Roe, the woman’s attorney, said she believed the police report was “overblown.”
“I’m fully aware that Copperfield’s lawyers are trying to shine a light on her instead of what he did and his modus operandi of luring young girls to his private island,” she said.

As a VICTIM of false allegations I can tell that it is not only rich people who have this done to them. I was accused of criminal acts by a foreign national so she could take advantage of the VAWA program which, just like so many women here, assume guilt simply because a woman says so. Only women can pull this garbage. Like one of the complaint makers above saying DC was a cheap SOB- He doesn’t buy them anything, but meals.- Yes, if a woman doesn’t get paid for being laid, regardless of how they think they should be paid, they claim rape and victimize the man. In my case, although the accuser was proven to have lied to MULTIPLE agencies, not one filed charges against her. And this is a common occurence in the US. Look what happened to the Duke accuser. Everybody went to jail, although Nifong was not there ling enough, EXCEPT the false accuser. Nancy Grace should be there with her.
