Needham MA Murder News – Needham, MA police have arrested a homicide suspect - 41-year-old William Dunn – in connection with the death of 78-year-old Robert Moore.

The Needham, MA manhunt began earlier today after Moore was found dead in his home and Moore’s daughter, Nancy Moore, was also found beaten severely about the head.

News reports said the suspect was installing an irrigation system at the house and also say that a bloody baseball bat was found on the property.

While the official cause of Moore’s death has not released, it appears he was a victim of blunt force trauma.

Police began searching for Dunn, who had been installing the irrigation system on Moore’s property. Dunn fled the scene after the attack, police said, but was apprehended by a police dog around 3:45 p.m.

Because police had reason to believe Dunn was on foot in the area, all seven schools in Needham were placed under lockdown as a precaution, affecting about 5,000 students. The lockdown was lifted for St. Joseph’s Elementary just after 4 p.m. All other school lockdowns were lifted shortly after.

An automated phone alert went out to all parents telling them the children would be kept in lockdown until it has been determined everything is safe.

Dunn will be arraigned in court on Monday for the first murder in Needham in 20 years.

And that’s all the news on the Needham, MA murder.
