Ben Roethlisberger Hip Injury Update – Ben Roethlisberger severely injured his hip in the third quarter of the Ravens game with the Steelers already ahead 35 to 7.

Ben Roethlisberger hip injury

Ben Roethlisberger’s hip injury took the shine off an awesome performance that saw the Steelers quarterback complete 13 of 16 passes for 238 yards and a Steeler record five touchdowns in the first half.

Roethlisberger was hit hard after completing a 35-yard pass while rolling to his right and went down hard on his right hip along the right sideline directly in front of the Steeler bench. Ben immediately grabbed his hip and his face contorted with the pain.

No word yet from the Steelers on the severity of Big Ben’s hip pointer, but based on the grimaces as he limped off the field with assistance on both sides, Roethlisberger could be out for two weeks or more.

Why? Because hip pointers do not respond well to any medical treatment and only time will relieve the pain and inflammation. The Steelers need Roethlisberger healthy down the stretch, so he’ll sit out at least two games and maybe three.

Bottom line: Ben Roethlisberger will be riding the bench until at least Thanksgiving and Charlie Batch will be quarterbacking the Steelers against the Cleveland Browns on November 11th and the New York Jets on November 18th.

Given Miami’s dismal performance so far this year, the Steelers will most likely rest Ben Roethlisberger’s injured hip on November 26th against Miami as well.

And that’s the latest news on the Ben Roethlisberger hip injury.
