My question is "who gets to define what a high speed accident is?" Look at that wreckage again.... How fast was he going?

According to news reports at the time, Nick Bollea was racing his father’s 1998 Toyota Supra against a Dodge Viper on Aug. 26 when the car Bollea was driving struck a curb, spun across two lanes of traffic and slammed rear-end first into a palm tree, leaving John Graziano in a permanent coma.

That 1998 Toyota Supra was supercharged to almost 1,000 horsepower and is waaay more car than any 17-year old kid should be driving.

Plus, Daniel Jacobs who was driving the Viper is a friend of John Graziano and Nick, so this was just buddies street racing each other they'd had a couple of beers.

Stupid, I know, but we've all done something equally stupid at one point or another.

Frankly, Nick's damn lucky he's not the one in the coma. Take a second look at that twisted pile of wreckage and promise to warn your own kids about driving too fast one day soon...
