Pictures showing a high-ranking Hoboken, New Jersey police officer cavorting with waitresses from a Hooters restaurant in Alabama has become part of a discrimination lawsuit filed by five Latino officers.

One girl managed to slip the cuffs and grab a weapon:
And suddenly, the Hooters SWAT team was born:

Wow! They fired the whole SWAT team:
“The Hoboken, N.J., SWAT team was axed from the department on Friday after pictures surfaced showing Hooters waitresses posing with their guns, sprawled on top of police vehicles and dangling off the shoulders of officers.
Public Safety Director Bill Bergin, who was sworn in on Friday, disbanded the SWAT team after controversy over the photos, which were taken two years ago at an Alabama Hooters as the officers returned from a Hurricane Katrina relief mission.
Hoboken created the public safety director position to oversee the police and fire departments.
The officers will remain on the force and continue with normal police work, but the SWAT commander, Lt. Angelo Andriani, was ordered to take desk duty.
Adriani, who is seen in many of the photos, also is taking heat from Latino officers who accuse him of being a white supremacist. They are suing for discrimination.
Andriani says the weapons were privately owned and not paid for by taxpayers.”

This is the most dumb thing I have ever seen with a specialized group of officers such as SWAT. You would think if the Commander was out of his mind at least the officers would have said, this is a no no!
I’m a retired veteran Lt. from the Midwest and was the Commander of two specialized groups. The officers are ONLY as good as their Commander and don’t forget that, ever!
None of the officers and the Lt should be allowed to ever work again in a speciality assignment. The Lt should never make another rank and the officers shouldn’t be considered for promotions for some time. They’d better think about it!

My husband is a police officer. He has always said that he has to behave as if his photo were being taken all the time. He has to be prepared for people to make judgements about his behavior, even if he is off duty and not in uniform.
These guys should take a lesson.

Two years ago!!! That’s ridiculous. I was expecting naked pictures of something. That might warrant all the hoopla. Sheesh, some people are way too uptight, or need to get laid.

Listen: I think these officers have the right to party, but in uniform is not the responsible thing to do, you are representing the police dept. and plus letting these young girls handle your weapons, im sure that they were cleared first? anyway, i can only tell you how i feel, i think now they will think before they do anything like that again.
