In the trailer for National Treasure II: Book of Secrets, the plot follows the mystery of the eighteen missing pages from John Wilkes Booth diary, which reportedly implicate Ben Gates’ great-grandfather as a co-conspirator in the plot to assassinate President Lincoln.

Nicholas Cage is back in National Treasure Book of Secrets as treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates, Diane Kruger is back as his wife, Abigail Chase, and Justin Bartha as his trusty sidekick, Riley Poole, also returns.

To clear his family’s name, Ben Gates must kidnap the President of the United States to get access to a secret book that is for the President’s eyes only. The book also has the truth about Area 51 and the missing minutes in the Watergate tapes.

The fast-paced action adventure flick jumps from Washington to Buckingham Palace to Mount Rushmore and back again. Needless to say, solving clues left long ago in obscure riddles figures prominently in the plot development.
