Obviously Rotten Neighbor cannot support the amount of hits they are getting due to the publicity on Google/Yahoo. I have been trying to check this sight out all day, and the page will not load.

Either that, or some asshole "neighbors" petitioned to have this site removed :)

sigh...I will have to snoop another day.

I just wanted to point out that the links in the story are wrong. It's RottenNeighbor.com without the S. It is singular not plural.

evil bastard,

Love that name! I think that's what's behind all the buzz this site is generating. It's only a couple of month's old and a lot of areas don't have any neighbors tagged yet.

Get in there and mark up everybody that's rotten in your neighborhood. Think of it as a public service...

Posted one yesterday afternoon showing results for this post:

http://hitsusa.com/blog/36/buzz-marketing-video/

I've been making some how-to SEO videos documenting specific techniques for a membership area of this site that I just started developing.

In the buzz marketing video, I show how the post got the #6 spot in Google in under an hour.

The post also details specific SEO tips on what to do within the post.

Of course, results are going to vary depending on how tough the competition is and how much link juice (PR) your site has.

I can tell you this though. These techniques do work. A previous post on the "top 10 hottest actresses" debuted at #1 on Google and currently sits in #6 spot for that phrase and it gets traffic from several variants of that phrase.

Again, I'm making videos of what works for me. YMMV, but these techniques are definitely a good tool to use.

web hosting,

Glad you liked it! I just started cranking up this site less than a month ago and it's definitely getting a huge surge in traffic from these posts.

You might want to subscribe to the RSS feed for more website traffic tips...

roundandround,

I use buzz marketing topics to test some SEO techniques. Why? Because you can actually get instant top 10 SERP results with blog posts from a low PR site.

To get front page results in Google for regular web pages, you need a whole lot of link juice behind your site and that takes time.

I just did a little video about a few of these SEO techniques that I've been testing with three buzz posts. All have been successful and some more so than others.

It's definitely worth a viewing...

Cool, funny how I can use Gtrends to find Digg to find this to find that site and this site. :)

I have tried posting on Gtrends too but it seems I have been getting very little traffic (400 visitors at most) and only about 70 a day. Now, it's going too fast and it would be too hard to get the visitors to convert (well, I could use some affiliate product but they are hard to find and selling stuff from Amazon or so pays crap).

You have to settle on a niche, after all, I guess.

Gotta love Google Trends. I always like looking at it to see what today's buzz is.

And Facebook really does have it going on by allowing developers to post useful applications for their users to play around with. That is genius as well.

Heard Trip Advisor paid a developer $3.3 million for his app that became red hot on Facebook. It allows people to create a map linking all the places they've been...
