Hayden High School Cheerleaders – Three cheerleaders from Hayden High School were killed in single car accident and four others injured while returning from a Cheer-tastic cheerleading camp.

The Hayden High cheerleaders were traveling westbound in a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu around 9:10 p.m. Thursday when it veered off the road, struck a tree, and then went over the embankment, State trooper spokeswoman Dorris Teague said.
“It came to rest upside down about 50 feet below the road,” said Trooper David Richards.
The victims, all from Warrior, were members of the cheerleading squad at Hayden High School, located about 30 miles north of Birmingham. Troopers identified the dead as sophomores Whitney Bradford and Sara Casey, both 16, and senior Courtney Niceley, 17.
The driver, Sarah Elizabeth Agee, 17, as well as Brittany Lovejoy, 17, Ariel Nibblet, 17, and Alexandria Thomas, 16, were injured, Teague said.
The school Web site had a note extending sympathy to their families, along with a photo of the three cheering at a football game.
“They will forever be in our hearts!” it read.
Anita Harper, who works for the city water department, said the crash was “hard to fathom.”
“The girls were coming home from a gymnastics event in Oneonta,” she said.
Ariel Nibblet and Brittany Lovejoy, both 17, were listed in fair condition at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Alexandria Thomas, 16, was treated at Children’s Hospital, but details on her condition were no immediately available.
Troopers identified the driver as Sarah Agee, 17, of Warrior, who was treated at a hospital and released.
Teague said the crash occurred on Alabama Highway 160 about 10 miles east of Hayden.
No charges were filed and the accident remained under investigation, Richards said. The trooper said it was unclear exactly where the girls had been before the accident, but they were headed toward the school at the time of the wreck.
And that’s the sad news about the Hayden High School Cheerleaders.

this is hard for everyone. even those who didn’t know them. Its very sad and tragic for someone my age to have passes away this horrible. The families are in my prays. I can only imagine how everyone is taking it. but I would like for people to be strong for themselves and the ones around them. I didnt know the girls but as wonderful as people says they are, they wouldn’t want there familes to be suffering.

The truly sad part about this whole story is that one of the families (not sure about the other two) are pressing charges against Sarah Agee the young girl that was driving. My understanding is that there were 3 cars of kids and at every light one would jump out of one car and jump in the next. This is how we end up with 7 girls in one car. I’ve been told that there is video of this (since for some of these girls it was their senior year) What good is it going to do to press charges on this 17 year old girl. It wont bring the other girls. Has anyone stopped to think that this child Sarah has to live with the fact that the car she was driving killed 3 people. DOnt you think that is punishment enough. There were 6 other girls other than Sarah Agee, that made the decision to get in that car and go. I’m sorry to say that it was a bad decision. If they were uncomfortable in that car they should have gotten out and called a parent to come get them, but they didnt, they made the choice to stay in tha car. There are lots of people that can be blamed here, and we can accuse any of these kids and calim it was their fault but its not going to bring Courtney Whitney and Sarah Back. Maybe these parents should start pushing for other things such as a law that most states have, that drivers this young are only allowed to have 1 other passenger with them. Well these are just my opinions but I hope everyone takes the time to read it.

i am a senior at hayden high school and i dont think any of the information that was said about pressing charges should have been said that has not been released yet and i dont think you should be telling anyone this. its bad enough we have to go trough this and its makes it worse when people run their mouths. yes i understand you want people to know but i think the police should be the one’s to say. and we all loved courtney, whitney, and sarah so please leave your comments to your self.

None of the familes have pressed ANY charges against anyone. I have heard nothing of the “car switching” game played at red lights. They all went in one car on to the cheernastics–period–. No, they should have but the punishment should not be death and there is a law in Alabama that anyone under the age of 18 can’t have more than 2 riders, but again, it should not be a death sentence. I feel for these girls familes. They suffer everyday not having thier child with them, and for ALL involved in the wreck, they will always have a terrible memory of this accident.

i go to hayden high school and i am a cheerleader there. none of what jen said was true. they didn’t switch cars at red lights because there was only one light they could have swiotched at without being caught and even then they would have and the families of Courtney, Whitney, and Sarah would never press chearges against Sarah Agee because they love her. that is that. the girls don’t remember being in the accident they just know they were in the car somethinfg happened and they woke up at the hospital. end of conversasion. i love those three gils with all my hearts and it drives me crazy when people say things that they don’t even know what they’re talking about. sorry about venting but it’s the truth.

i knew all three of girls and they were the most amazing girls i’ve ever met. The ridiculous things that Jenn said are not true! These girls were carpooling nothing more nothing less. there is no crime in that. yes. Sarah Agee was the driver and i know personally that she feels horrible about everything that has happened and she wishes she could change it. Just keep these families in your prayers and try to keep your mouth shut about things you dont even know.
