Foxboro Hut Tubs are Green Day - The wildly popular new mystery band Foxboro Hot Tubs sound an awful lot like Green Day and now you can download a free six-song EP to decide for yourself.
The Foxboro Hot Tubs FREE 6 song album, “Stop Drop and Roll”, can be downloaded as mp3s from the band website, http://www.foxborohotubs.com
Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool, and Mike Dirnt have dodged media questions about the mystery band. Rumors abound that the six songs will be prominently featured in Green Day’s 2008 tour dates because they are all uptempo pop rock gems that get you out of your seat and dancing in the aisles.
The Foxboro Hot Tubs MySpace page shows no pictures of any band members and provides zero information other than some old-time photos and listening to three great songs. Not exactly how your typical wildly talented garage band tries to make a name for themselves.
The use of the old-time album cover format earns classic style points:

Of the six free song downloads, only “Red Tide” is a few seconds longer than three minutes, but all are power pop at it’s finest. Check out the Hot Tubs music and see what the buzz is all about.
Sounds a little like The Knack and a whole lot like early Green Day. Bet you can’t help dancing around the room while you listen…

Page has changed since the songs were posted for download on December 8th…
Actually, the site now looks like someone else grabbed the domain name, pasted the Wikipedia page onto it, and slapped on some ads.
Best bet would be to check their MySpace page, which no longer mentions the free downloads either…

I think they lost control of the domain name.
The original was pretty good with the fake album cover and all the downloads.
Then it became just a copy of the Wikipedia page about Foxboro Hot Tubs/Green Day, and then one of those fake search engines with paid advertising results, then nothing at all, and now the Wikipedia version is back with lots of advertising everywhere…
