Gemma Arterton – Curvaceous British actress Gemma Arterton seen in pictures below has got Bond, James Bond, in the upcoming “Bond 22″ movie now shooting at Pinewood Studios in London.
22-year old British newcomer Gemma Arterton will play “Fields” in the Marc Forster-directed movie, which has the working title of “Bond 22″ and stars Daniel Craig reprising his role as a youthful version of secret agent 007.
The new Bond film takes up where 2006’s “Casino Royale” left off.
Gemma beat out 1,500 other actresses to land the part, then reportedly sent her mother a text saying: “I got Bond!”
Arterton’s screen credits include the recently released comedy “St. Trinian’s,” where she played sexy schoolgirl Kelly, opposite Colin Firth and Rupert Everett.
The movie is about the madcap adventures of a group of unruly girls at a boarding school. It’s young stars were a big hit at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
Gemma Arterton’s agent Sally Long-Innes also represents 007 himself, Daniel Craig. She explained, “Sally said ‘If you do this big film, it will open the doors for all these other brilliant things. But you have to do the big film first’. It’s like the Keira Knightley thing: everyone ridiculed her for doing the Pirates films, but she’s getting great parts now. She can choose whatever she wants.”
“I think it’s difficult for a young girl like me, because there’s a certain time for young actresses, which is like a really juicy period when all the parts are love interests and young heroines. Of course, there’s always work for men whatever age they are. So I’m really going to go for it. And if it all goes wrong, I’ll go and do panto!”
Principal photography for “Bond 22″ started January 3rd 2008 at Pinewood Studios and location shooting will move on to Italy, Panama, Austria and Bolivia.

Gemma has just moved in with her boyfriend, who also works in the film business, in animation. What does he – and her parents – make of the fact that she is being launched into the public eye in such a raunchy way? She laughs.
“My boyfriend finds it quite funny, but the whole acting thing is quite alien to my family. Mum is a cleaner, my dad a welder.
“When I got to RADA, he kept saying: ‘But can you really make a living from this?’”
Gemma could afford to attend RADA only because she got a full Government grant – and, as she says, “got up to my eyes in debt with a student loan”.

i met gemma one night in blackpool. she was out with my mates girlfriend. another rada graduate called sarah stone. we chatted for approx. 30 mins on and off. she seemd pretty down to earth. didnt know at the time she was bond girl or st.trinians actress. deffo no up her own ass…..so deserves a bit of success for being a regular chic. i think !
