The former Rockland County, NY assistant prosecutor - Beth Modica was dismissed last month for “budgetary reasons” - was indicted on multiple counts of providing alcohol and marijuana to underage teens, as well as having sex with several boys on her son’s hockey team, the Suffern Mounties, during wild pool parties at her house this past summer.
A married mother of four, Beth Modica’s husband is the police chief in nearby Spring Valley, New York. Chief Paul Modica has refused to talk with reporters about his wife’s arrest and indictment on drug, alcohol, and underage sex offenses.
“Bitch could use a good spanking,” he didn’t mumble under his breath as he stormed away from a mob of reporters asking if the hockey team’s nickname, the Mounties, had any special meaning for his wife…
Modica’s next door neighbor said there were at least three pool parties over the summer. “I know her husband wasn’t home,” he said.
The neighbor said that when the revelers cleared out, beer cans covered the street and even turned up in his mailbox.
“I knew there was alcohol,” he said. “Over the summer she just changed. She wasn’t the same old Beth anymore. I just feel bad for the kids.”
“If I’d known what was going on, I’d a been over there hittin that myself,” he didn’t really say, but probably thought…
Beth Modica, the former Beth Gardner, graduated from law school at St. Johns University and was dismissed from her job as assistant district attorney in Sloatsburg, NY where she lives, and as deputy town attorney in nearby Rampao, NY in late December.
Angry parents of teens on the team were outraged about the charges, with one saying, “That is totally wrong. The hockey team is full of good kids.”

90% of this is completely untrue and as well as the obscene statement allegedly made by the chief. I have known him for 18 years and he has never been subject to make a statement as vile as this. And as for the reporter who wrote this p.o.s summary; 1. You need to get your facts right 2. you need to learn how to acquire more than rumor

NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) — An ex-prosecutor and former PTA president who is also the wife of a suburban police chief has been charged with having sex, smoking marijuana and drinking with high-school-age children.
Beth Modica, 44, a former assistant district attorney in Rockland County and Queens, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 35 counts including statutory rape, sex abuse and endangering children.
Her hands were cuffed in front of her in court, where the indictment was unsealed. She later posted $75,000 bail.
Her husband is police chief of Spring Valley. He is “not implicated whatsoever,” Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said.
The 35-count indictment says that, beginning in July, Modica had intercourse with a 16-year-old, as well as oral sex with that boy and a 15-year-old. The judge issued orders of protection for the boys.
Modica, a former PTA president at Sloatsburg Elementary School, also is accused of drinking with many other children at her home and smoking marijuana with them in her car.
Modica would face a prison term of 1 1/3 to four years if convicted.
Ramapo Police Chief Peter Brower said the investigation began Dec. 31, when his department received a complaint in the mail. He said the students involved go to Suffern High School, which is also attended by at least one of Modica’s four children, a 16-year-old son.
