Josette Franklin – Assistant Principal Josette Franklin of North Clayton High School outside Atlanta lost her job when racy photos of her in lingerie were discovered on football coach Donald Shockley’s school laptop.

The extramarital affair between Josette Franklin and Donald Shockley – the father of Atlanta Falcons quarterback D.J. Shockley –  came to light when a student repairing the computer came across the sexually suggestive photos and transferred them to his iPod.

The racy photos were shown to other students at North Clayton High School and then uploaded onto the MySpace pages of several students, prompting an internal investigation.

Josette Franklin and Donald Shockley attempted to coverup their affair by claiming that Franklin had inadvertently given Shockley a CD containing private family photos.

In her written statement, Franklin said she thought the disc contained pictures of her children and did not realize they also included pictures “of my anniversary celebration with my husband.”

Investigators were able to show the photos of Franklin were taken by the same digital camera that was used to take photos of a school basketball game – and that the camera belonged to Coach Shockley.

Josette Franklin resigned before the investigation was complete, according to Charles White, the Clayton County School Board spokesman.

Donald Shockley recanted his earlier written statement on Dec. 14 and admitted to the intimate relationship, telling investigators that he took the photos during a trip they took together to Savannah.

Shockley was placed on adminstrative leave with pay that same day and resigned on Jan. 7. He has a history of sexual misconduct at the school and had already received two written warnings for violations of school board policy.

One reprimand in 2004 was for inappropriate contact with a female student during a fitness class, although investigators concluded at that time that there was no wrongful intent.

Another reprimand in Shockley’s file involved sending a series of e-mails back in 2003 to another female co-worker that led to an attempted assault on Shockley and the co-worker on school grounds by the co-worker’s husband.

And that’s the latest news on the termination for sexual misconduct of Assistant Principal Josette Franklin.
