J.O.N.A.S.! - The new Disney Channel tv show J.O.N.A.S.! featuring the Jonas Brothers will definitely be a big hit - The young rockers star as undercover spies out to save the world.
J.O.N.A.S.! stands for “Junior Operatives Networking As Spies” and the Jonas Brothers are helping their dad - he’s also a secret agent - thwart the evil Dr. Harvey Fleischman, a diabolical dentist out to take over the minds of young people everywhere.

Think Austin Powers meets The Monkees and you’ll have the basis of the next surefire Disney Channel hit. The Jonas Brothers play themselves as high school rock stars who are also undercover secret agents.

The Jonas Brothers are red hot now after vaulting to stardom touring with Hannah Montana, starring in the Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock”, and selling out arenas nationwide during their “When I Look Into Your Eyes” tour in early 2008.
Chelsea Staub - she starred in “Bratz” - joins the popular rockers as Stella Malone, a teenage reporter who’s undercover at their high school to get the real scoop on the Jonas Brothers.
Further J.O.N.A.S.! plot complications arise from the fact that their own mother can’t be allowed to discover their secret.

Combine that with the fact that their own real-life younger brother - Frankie Jonas aka the bonus Jonas - is a constant thorn in their side and knows his brothers are up to something, leaving the rockers in danger of being exposed at every turn.

In the Disney Channel TV show, the Jonas brothers play themselves, but as a struggling rock band trying to make the bigtime, touring the U.S. in a rickety old bus, which sounds a lot like the old Partridge Family TV series.

And of course, in their cross-country journeys they perform concerts and sell homemade CDs to their fans to support their touring efforts, while fighting evildoers in their spare time and saving the world - at least until the next episode anyway.

Originally planned for summer release to capitalize on the Camp Rock movie, J.O.N.A.S.! was delayed after the writers strike halted production after only a few episodes had been shot.

Rachel Katz also appears in the show as Willie Floym and Darnell Davis plays Vlad.
Now slated for September 2008 release, the show may be threatened because the Jonas Brothers are now making millions with their real life touring.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see it the young rockers really want live that double life after all.

Jonas Brothers Ink European Distribution Deal & Tour
Universal Music Group has struck a deal with Disney Music Group’s Hollywood Records to license the Jonas Brothers’ self-titled album for Europe.
“Jonas Brothers” will be released in Europe by Polydor Records in June, preceded by the first single, “S.O.S,” in late May.
“This band is one of our key priorities for Europe,” comments Max Hole, executive VP, Universal Music Group International in a statement, “and we are keen on creating the same phenomenon in the region that has taken hold in the U.S.”
UMG also has distribution rights for “Jonas Brothers” in Canada and Latin America.
The loser in this deal is EMI Music, which missed the chance to extend on its current international distribution deal for the album. “Someone within the old (EMI) management chose not to pick up the option,” says an EMI source. “I don’t know why they wouldn’t.”
Earlier in the year, the teen pop band, whose album is certified platinum in the United States, signed a two-year, multi-million-dollar worldwide touring deal with Live Nation.
The Jonas Brothers will appear as special guests on Avril Lavigne’s European tour, kicking off May 26 at Glasgow’s Carling Academy.
