American Idol Predictions 3-19-08 – Guys
In Danger: Chikezie, Michael Johns
Chikezie was energetic, but the song sounded awful after he switched it to a country twang in the second half. Michael Johns couldn’t fit the extended ”A Day In The Life” into the short time allotted for each contestant and his performance was muddled at best.
Best Performances This Week: David Archuleta, Jason Castro, David Cook
All three of these guys do a great job each week and have solid fan bases supporting them with votes each week. Look for these three guys to make the Top 5.
American Idol Favorites – Guys: David Archuleta has massive support from the all-important voting block of teenage girls. Jason Castro has huge appeal to older girls who also vote heavily. If it wasn’t for those goofy dreadlocks, he’d be the frontrunner overall.
American Idol Predictions 3-19-08 – Girls
In Danger: Amanda Overmeyer, Kristy Lee Cook
Amanda Overmeyer sounds the same every week and her performance last night was just awful. Kristy Lee Cook was wooden on stage as always. It’s hard to believe she actually had a recording contract and put out a CD because she’s a boring performer onstage.
Best Performances This Week: Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado
Carly always sings well and did a tremendous job with the both Beatles performances. Visually, she looked awful with a red smock top that made her look twenty pounds overweight. Syesha did the best job of the night for the girls.
American Idol Favorites – Girls: Brooke White is very consistent and does a great job every week. Carly Smithson has the pipes, but her visual appeal is low due to that horrific tattoo. Brooke and Carly will make the Top 5.
American Idol Predictions – Bottom Three for 3-19-08
This American Idol vote determines the Top 10 contestants. After the second week of Beatles songs, these three contestants are in the bottom 3:

- Kristy Lee Cook
- Chikezie

My bottom three prediction was pretty accurate and I pegged Amanda as the one who would be voted off.
Even though she isn’t much of a singer, Amanda sure would have livened up the Idol Top 10 tour.
Have to say I was surprised that Carly Smithson was in the bottom three last night.
Chikezie was definitely worse than Carly by a mile, but it could be that she hasn’t developed a much of a dedicated voting block. Hopefully, she’ll pick up some of Amanda’s fans.
And how many times can Kristy Lee Cook dodge a bullet? On American Idol, she’s got more lives than cat!

Even without hearing next week’s performances, it should be pretty easy to pick the bottom three on the American Idol Top 10 show March 25.

Of course, performances do count and Kristy might not be able to dodge another bullet this week.
