American Idol Predictions 3-26-08 – Guys
In Danger: Chikezie
Chikezie was all right, but he’s still the weakest of the remaining guys on Idol. Covering a Luther Vandross song definitely appealed to his core fans and the so-called “black Idol” voting block has been strong in seasons past with Reuben Studdard and Fantasia as prime examples.
Best Performances This Week: David Cook, Michael Johns
David Cook blew everyone away with his version of “Billie Jean” as rearranged by former Soundgarden lead singer Chris Cornell. And Michael Johns rocked the Queen anthem “We Are The Champions” in true rock star fashion.
All of the guys did a pretty good job this week and most have solid fan bases supporting them by voting heavily each week. Look for these three guys to make the Top 5.
American Idol Favorites – Guys: David Archuleta has massive support from the all-important voting block of teenage girls. Jason Castro has huge appeal to older girls who also vote heavily. If it wasn’t for those goofy dreadlocks, he’d be the frontrunner overall.
American Idol Predictions 3-26-08 – Girls
In Danger: Ramiele Malubay, Brooke White
Ramiele was pretty awful compared to the other Idol contestants and is the one most likely to be voted off. Surprisingly, Brooke White sounded pretty bad as well, but she has a considerable fan base that will carry her through to the next round.
Best Performances This Week: Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado
Kristy Lee Cook will avoid a fifth appearance in a row in the bottom three with her patriotic rendition of Lee Greenwood’s “Proud To Be An American” which went over well with judges and fans alike. Syesha sounded the best she has so far, but she still doesn’t have much of a fan base.
Carly Smithson was pretty weak and continued to look about twenty pounds overweight. Rumor has it that Carly Smithson is pregnant, but there has been no confirmation of that from American Idol. Given the time lag between auditions and Hollywood week, it would be incredibly stupid for a married woman to get pregnant while trying to resurrect her music career, so hopefully its just a rumor.
American Idol Favorites – Girls: Brooke White is very consistent and does a great job every week, except for last night. Carly Smithson has the pipes, but her visual appeal is low due to that horrific tattoo. Brooke and Carly will make the Top 5.
American Idol Predictions – Bottom Three for 3-26-08
Well, i was spot on with my prediction of Amanda Overmeyer voted off American Idol last week. So, who is voted off American Idol among the Top 10 contestants?
After this week’s mishmash of songs from the year they were born, these three contestants are in the bottom 3:
- Ramiele Mulabay
- Chikezie
- Brooke White
Going home: Ramiele Malubay

Boy was I wrong about that one!
Ramiele didn’t even make the bottom three and I never thought Jason Castro’s screaming fans would fail to vote for him in droves.
Just goes to show how important attitude is towards generating votes. Idol contestants who show a lot of flippant attitude toward the judges tend to get voted off rather quickly – Amanda and Chikezie both had the attitude that they knew more than the judges, plus Jason was seen as a little flippant during the 3/25 show.
And as far as both Chickezie and Syesha being in the bottom three, what happened to the black voting block that powered the runs of Reuben and Fantasia to Idol victory?
